Dungeons of Daggorath

My absolute favorite video game of all times was Dungeons of Daggorath for the TRS-80. For some reason I was thinking about this the other night, and how I would like to play it again. Fortunately, thanks to google I found a PC port of the game. It rocks my world.

Sheep Farm Fun

Last weekend I went to Bromont, QC to visit Glen Hart Farm which is owned by a friend and colleague Gord Harling. Gord and his partner farm sheep, and maple syrup. Also around the farm yard are chickens, ducks, dogs, a hampster, and many, many cats.

Canoeing Algonquin Park

For the fourth year in a row, we head to Algonquin Park to do a canoe trip to celebrate Emily's birthday. This year we decided to repeat the Rock Lake loop that we did a couple years ago. The first day was pretty easy, although it had a 3km portage in the middle to get to Lake Louisa.

We found a nice campsite in a little sheltered bay. The weather was gorgeous, but a little chilly, especially at night where the temperature dropped to near zero. Unfortunately Emily came down with an illness and we had to abort the trip a day early.

Inner Tube Recycling

Tonight I was overhauling my headset and decided I needed to install a couple seals for winter. Having a scrap innertube lying around, it was easy to cut a couple sections to cover over the bearings. That should keep any water, snow, salt, grit etc out of them.

Later in the evening I decided to use the remainder of the innertube and turn it into guards for my skates. Simply slice a section lengthwise, add a couple rivets, and voila! Skate guards! Thank my friend Rob for this invention.
