Nice travelogue Mike. Too bad about the knee, but at least you got some great photos, esp. of the ocean.
As for the town names in the Eastern Townships, the area was mainly settled by Anglos, then the Catholic Church came along and added the French names, so you get the odd combos like "Ste. Marguerite-de-Lingwick"...
