I once wore a tie.
My friend Sharon dug up this old photo of me back and a few of my friends in 1994. I had a tie on! From left to right: Jo, Me, Xet, Beaker, Random Hands.

Although I cannot say why in a public forum. I will have a job security for the next little while at Elliptic Semiconductor Emily found the book Jurassic Park sitting on the table in a restaurant a little while ago. It was from the Book Crossing which is a read-and-leave type library. You enter information about where you found the book into a website and you can track where it goes. Then once you are done reading it, you leave it somewhere for a new owner. Pretty neat concept! The book is good. I was up till midnight last night absorbed in it. This week I learned that there is not one but a total of 5 hash algorithms defined by FIPS 180.
This morning I got up and went to give my cat Mynch his antibiotic pills. Usually he is pretty good about taking them, but this morning he decided to struggle as a popped the first pill in his mouth. He tried to claw my hand but caught his own tongue instead. Then he freaked out (and me out as well) and almost pulled his tongue out of his head as his claw was stuck in his tongue. Fortunately his claw came out of the tongue and I think he is Ok now. He ate the second pill with no struggle at all. I then arrived at work and looked at todays Dr Fun cartoon...
My cat Mynch got a bladder infection last week. I took him to the vet on Saturday. Yikes was that ever expensive! Hopefully he does not get sick anymore. Apparently he weighs in at 22 pounds. The vet was not pleased about that and ordered him to lose 7 pounds in the next year. Mynch has always been a big cat, I doubt he will lose much weight.
