CFL bulbs are now banned from city trash

The city of Ottawa just realized that CFL bulbs contain mercury, and have banned them from household waste. Gee... what a suprise. Read the story here.

I am now have 5 of these bloody things that have suffered meltdown of the ballast. Just the 23W variety, and two specific brands; Luminus and Commercial. The 13W ones seem to have no issues.
